The Professionalism Resource Catalog (PRC) is a collection of content elements that can be embedded into courses, lectures, and other teaching and learning activities. Each of these elements is related to one of the many components that make up the complex mosaic of health care professionalism. These components include ethics, cultural competence, professional decorum, communication, inter-disiciplinarity, and dealing with moral dilemmas, just to list a few. The PRC serves as both a source and an archive for content elements that are identified or developed during the instructor/ student collaboration step of the QEP. As the PRC grows, we encourage all faculty members to peruse the catalog for elements that can be incorporated into their teaching activities. The staff and faculty of the Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities (CBMH) will be happy to work with any faculty member to revise existing elements or to develop new elements that are stage and discipline-specific for their needs. We also invite faculty to submit elements that they currently use to teach the components of professionalism in order to share them with colleagues. Any questions about the PRC may be directed to the CBMH.
